All staff and regular volunteers have an enhanced DBS check on file
DBS checks are renewed every three years
References have been obtained for all staff
No adult is left alone with a child in an unsupervised setting
All staff have completed safeguarding awareness training
Visitors and guest speakers are supervised at all times
Safeguarding Policy and Procedures
A written safeguarding policy is in place and reviewed annually
A Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is named and contactable during club hours
All staff know who the DSL is and how to report a concern
A clear procedure for recording and reporting safeguarding concerns is documented
The safeguarding policy is shared with all parents and carers
A whistleblowing policy is in place for staff to raise concerns about other adults
Registration and Contact Information
Every child has a completed registration form on file
Emergency contact numbers for every child are up to date
Allergy and medical information is recorded and accessible to all staff
An authorised collector list is maintained for each child
Consent forms for photography, trips, and medical treatment are collected
Collection and Handover
Children are only released to authorised collectors
A sign-out procedure is followed every session
A procedure is in place for when a child is not collected on time
Staff remain with any uncollected child until a parent or carer arrives
Devices and Online Safety
A clear policy on device and internet use during club hours is in place
If Wi-Fi is provided, content filtering is enabled
Staff do not communicate with children via personal social media or phone numbers
Photography of children follows the consent policy
Health and Safety
A first aid kit is available and stocked
At least one staff member holds a current paediatric first aid certificate
An accident and incident log is maintained
Fire exits are clear and a fire evacuation plan is displayed
Staff-to-child ratios meet the requirements for the age group
