YouTube Kids: Content Controls for Parents

What Changed

YouTube Kids gives parents meaningful control over what a child can watch. You can choose a content level for the child's age band, or switch to 'approved content only' mode so the child can watch nothing except channels and videos you have specifically approved. You can also block individual videos or channels, review watch history, turn search off, and set a timer. No automated filter is perfect — unsuitable videos do sometimes slip into children's content — so the controls work best combined with occasional review of what your child has actually been watching.

What to Review

• •Open YouTube Kids, tap the padlock to reach the parental settings, and check the content level set for your child's profile.
• •Look through the watch history now and then, and block anything that concerns you.
