What I can say when I'm worried

It can be hard to find the right words. Here are some things you could say to start the conversation:

  • β†’

β€œSomething has happened and I need to talk to you.”

  • β†’

β€œI'm worried about something and I don't know what to do.”

  • β†’

β€œSomeone has said or done something that made me feel uncomfortable.”

  • β†’

β€œI've seen something online that upset me.”

  • β†’

β€œI feel unsafe and I need help.”

  • β†’

β€œMy friend told me something and I'm worried about them.”

Remember:

  • You are never in trouble for telling a trusted adult.
  • It is never your fault if something bad happened to you.
  • If one adult does not help, tell another.
  • Childline is always there: 0800 1111 β€” free and private.
